Community Nature Guide Course
The main aim of the course is to provide essential knowledge of ecotourism and its allied services, like nature trails, eco-tours, interpretation and forest experiences for forest and tribal community youth. These ecopreneurs are then mentored to build visitor experiences with opportunities to experience the local culture, cuisine, & community thereby contributing to conservation in these areas.Citizen Naturalist Foundation Course
The Citizen Naturalist (Foundation) Course is designed for adults who want a structured, hands-on entry point into natural history, biodiversity documentation, and nature education (no science background required)! Whether you want to build a nature-linked career, enhance your creative work, or simply understand the living world around you better, this course is your starting point.
Welcome! The Campus Biodiversity Register (CBR) brings students together across colleges in India to document the plants, animals, and other living things found on their own campuses. CBR relies on a few different platforms to do this, and this course focuses on one of them: iNaturalist.
You don't need any background in biology or science to take this course, just a bit of curiosity and a willingness to look a little closer at the world around you. We'll start with the basic idea behind citizen science and how it connects to CBR, then get you comfortable actually using iNaturalist, from setting up your account to making your first observation.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain what citizen science is and how CBR fits into it
- Set up and navigate an iNaturalist account, on both the app and the website
- Make a clear, accurate observation, with the right photo or sound, location, and date
- Tell the difference between a wild sighting and a captive or cultivated one
- Understand how identification works, and how to check back on your own observations
- Recognise what makes an observation genuinely high-quality and useful
Whether you're documenting your first sighting or brushing up before taking on a bigger role in your college's CBR team, this course is designed to make the process simple, practical, and genuinely enjoyable.
